Olympic Sports City
New name: Hanoi International Sports City (Khu đô thị thể thao Quốc tế Hà Nội) · often called "Vinhomes Olympic"
A mega-project of about 9,171 ha developed by a consortium that includes Vinhomes, spread across 11 communes and wards in the south of Hanoi, with a 135,000-seat stadium. Construction started at the end of 2025 and nothing is on sale yet. I have compiled this page from mainstream Vietnamese media so you get accurate information and avoid rumours and impostor websites.
Updated: 14 Oct 2026 · Sources: Tuoi Tre, Dan Tri, VnExpress, CafeF, VietnamPlus
The Ngoc Hoi station area, the southern gateway to Hanoi, where Zone A of the project is located.
"Vinhomes Olympic" is not the official name
Many websites call themselves "Vinhomes Olympic" and post prices. The real project goes by these names:
Olympic Sports City
The original name when Hanoi approved the investment policy and construction started (Dec 2025).
Hanoi International Sports City
The new name from May 2026 (Dan Tri, 16 May 2026).
Commercial name
Press round-ups mention the name "Vinhomes Global Sportia"; I will confirm it once the developer announces it officially.

Four zones, with Zone B built first
TOD city
Developed around Ngoc Hoi station, on the transit-oriented development model.
Sports city
The stadium and sports complex; the first zone under construction, about 411 ha, more than 186,000 residents. Townhouses, 3–4 storey villas, apartment buildings up to 21 floors, a shopping mall, hotels and a hospital.
Zone C
I will update its direction and size once official planning information is available.
Tourism city
Planned for tourism and resort use.
According to Tuoi Tre (19 Dec 2025) and CafeF. I have not been able to verify the areas of Zones A, C and D from official sources, so I have not included them.
The southern gateway to Hanoi
Phap Van – Cau Gie expressway
The Ministry of Construction approved a dedicated interchange at Km194+209, near the Thuong Tin interchange; Vinhomes bears the cost (VnExpress, 22 Jun 2026).
Widened National Highway 1A
The Kim Lien – Gie Bridge section is mentioned as being widened to 90 m (information from an article about a neighbouring project; I will cross-check it).
Ngoc Hoi station · Ngoc Hoi Bridge
Zone A is around Ngoc Hoi station. Ngoc Hoi Bridge (Ring Road 3.5) is under construction, linking Thanh Tri with Van Giang and opening another route to the east.

What the press has reported
⏳ Land clearance is still held up by cemeteries, farmland, irrigation works and a 500 kV power line; it may run until late 2026 – early 2027.
⏸ Since Mar 2026, Hanoi has stopped issuing construction permits in about 30 communes and wards affected by this project and the Red River boulevard project.
📅 The stadium completion date differs between sources: Jul 2027, Aug 2028 or Q2 2030.
No official prices yet
The developer has not announced prices or a sales policy. SSI Securities forecasts that Vinhomes may sell in bulk to secondary investors from late 2026 – early 2027; this is a forecast, not a sales announcement.
⚠ Be careful with prices online
Websites calling themselves "Vinhomes Olympic" are posting prices and taking "reservations". While the developer has not opened sales, for any reservation payment you should ask clearly who receives it, what document you get, and how it is refunded. I will post official prices on this page as soon as they are available.
Can foreigners buy at Olympic Sports City?
Under Vietnam's 2023 Housing Law, foreign individuals may own homes in commercial housing projects, within quotas set by the law and for a term of up to 50 years (extendable). The project is not on sale yet; once it is, whether a specific home can be sold to a foreign buyer will depend on the developer's quota and the area's status, so I will check this with the developer for each unit before you commit.
What I help with
Checking eligibility for each unit, explaining the contract and payment schedule in English, and arranging a site visit with an English-speaking guide.
What you will need
A valid passport with a Vietnam entry stamp. Payments must come through a bank account in Vietnam. Get independent legal advice before signing.

Follow it closely, but don't put money down yet
I have worked in real estate since 2013 and I live in East Hanoi. I visited the project area to see it for myself in October 2026.
Why it is worth following
- The largest project Hanoi has ever had, with a 135,000-seat stadium as its centrepiece
- Tied to southern infrastructure: the Phap Van – Cau Gie expressway, Ngoc Hoi station, and Ngoc Hoi Bridge to the east
Worth considering
- The project is still at an early stage: land clearance is not finished, there are no prices and no legal approval for sales yet.
- It will take a long time to take shape (until 2035), so it suits a long-term financial plan.
- Don't pay a deposit through websites of unclear origin; wait for the developer's official announcement.
Questions clients often ask me
When will sales open?
The developer has not announced it. SSI forecasts bulk sales may start from late 2026 – early 2027. Leave your details and I will let you know as soon as there is an official schedule.
What are the expected prices?
There are no official prices yet. The prices online are rumours at this point, and I don't use them.
Should I reserve early?
Only reserve when you have a clear written document from the developer or an official agent that sets out the refund conditions.
How does it compare with Ocean Park or Ecopark in the east?
Ocean Park and Ecopark already have residents and you can move in straight away. The sports city is a new project and will take longer to take shape. I will lay the options side by side based on your needs and budget.
Get official information when sales open
I post updates on progress, prices and policy as the developer announces them, together with comparisons with projects that are already built.
